Looking Closely

Collect a variety of natural objects like leaves, rocks, and sticks (maybe objects you found on an adventure!) Look at them closely with your child.

What details do you see? By looking at them closely, do you notice more things than you usually would? Invite your child to use paper and crayons or markers to draw what she sees.

Try the same thing with common objects around the house. If your child enjoys this, use a magnifying glass to look at the objects again. What do you see now?
