House Hunting

Spring and summer are great times for a walk around the yard or at the park. Trees can be found in lots of places, and you can do an exploration of what kinds of animals live there.

If you look closely, you may see birds flying in and out of the tree, squirrels climbing up and down the tree, and caterpillars hanging from the tree. Maybe you'll even see very small insects living on the tree.

What makes a tree such a great home for all of these creatures? Share ideas about the food they might eat, the way they move, and the other creatures they may need to avoid. As always, remember to follow your child's lead in these discussions!
