Surveying the Storm

What do you notice when you walk outside after a storm? Look for things that are different than they were before the storm: puddles, water rushing, leaves on the ground, dead worms on the sidewalk.

Do you notice puddles in certain places, but not other places? Do you notice piles of leaves in some places and the ground blown clean in other places? Are there lots of dead worms in some places and none in other places? Talk with your child and speculate together about what you observe.
