Review today’s explorations and ideas about plants.

Have a few children show the pictures they drew in their Plant Journals. Then look at the “Our Plants” chart, with the photos from yesterday’s bean seed planting activity and today’s grass seed planting activity. Ask:

  • How are the bean, the sunflower, and the grass seeds the same? How are they different?
  • What did you discover about using a magnifying glass? How did it help you examine seeds?
  • Compare planting the bean and the grass seeds. What was similar about the ways you planted them? What was different?
  • In the PEEP episode we watched this morning, it took the flower “a long, long, long, long time” to grow. How long do you think it will take for the bean and grass seeds to grow? Do you think it will be longer or shorter than Peep’s sunflower? Why?
